Concerts in the Memorial Hall
All profits from events are for the upkeep and improvement of facilities at the hall for the benefit of the community. Tickets for under 16s are usually half adult price - please confirm before booking. (Please note that this does not imply that all events are suitable for young children.)

Chris While & Julie Matthews
 Fri 4th September - Chris While and Julie Matthews - (The Albion Band and Women of Albion) have been a full time duo since 1997. Chris is on
guitar, banjo, dulcimer, bodhran, percussion and vocals. Julie is on piano,guitar, mandolin and bouzouki and vocals. Eight times nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in the Best Duo, Best Song & Best Live Act categories. Winners of Best Duo 2009.
After touring Europe, Africa, North America and
Australia they are ready to take Reeth by storm! The best female duo around. Support by David Kidman – a passionate revival singer presenting a
thoughtful, personal choice of songs drawn from classic contemporary folk songwriting as well as the tradition. £11 in advance, £13 on the door.

Maurice Grumbleweed
 Friday 9th October - 8pm - An Evening of Music & Comedy with Maurice Grumbleweed and his special guest Brian Glanfield - with Reeth Brass Band.
Profits to be shared between Swaledale Fell Rescue and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Songs range from
'I'm Your Urban Spaceman' and 'Strawberry Fields' to Gallagher and Lyle's 'Breakaway' along with a bit of Lonnie Donegan mixed with gags and stories
in a laid back style. £10, on the door £12.

Please note that this concert will be held in St Andrew's church, Grinton as the Memorial Hall is in use on the night. |

Jez Lowe & The Bad Pennies with Benny Graham & Guests
Fri 18th December - Songwriter Jez Lowe returns to his North East roots in a special seasonal presentation that harks back to the old Tyneside radio shows of the 1950's, entitled Geordie's Winter Almanac Radio Roadshow. Gather round the winter firesides of the cottages and terraces in the shadow of the dockyard cranes and the pit-wheels, for an evening of songs, tunes, recitations and comedy, with a backdrop of archive film and photographs. Jez, hailed for his contributions to the recent SONY Award-Winning BBC Radio Ballads, and who's songs have been covered by the likes of Fairport Convention, The Dubliners and hundreds more, will be joined by his long-time band The Bad Pennies, with Kate Bramley (vocals/ violin), Andy May (Northumbrian Pipes) and David De La Haye (bass), plus special guests Tyneside balladeer Benny Graham and young multi-instrumentalist Andrew Cadie for a night of homespun revellry, Geordie Style.
