The Family Fireworks Fund
This group is a sub-committee of the main Hall Management Committee and was originally formed to organise events during the Millennium celebrations which began with a midnight fireworks display on Dec 31st. Afterwards the group were asked to take over the organisation of the annual Bonfire Night fireworks display and to continue the popular open air Songs of Praise on the green on the last Sunday in August. The New Year fireworks proved to be so popular that these too were continued, being transferred to the evening of New Years Day. Donations, collections and sponsorship support the cost of the firework displays which bring many visitors into the village, and funds raised after expenses are put back into good causes in the community.. |
Bonfire Night
 The village bonfire and fireworks display is held on the village green on 5th November (or 4th if the 5th is a Sunday).
The judging of the guys begins at 6pm, with the bonfire being lit at 6.30. The fireworks display begins at 7pm and a barbecue is available throughout the evening.
Admission is free and a collection is taken. |
New Year Fireworks Display
The New Year fireworks commence at 7pm on January 1st, on the green. A great family friendly way to celebrate the New Year, complete with barbecue! Admission is free and a collection will be taken. |
