KO Cups 1st round draw now online.
I AM MAKING AN EXECUTIVE DECISION ON RULE 4. I've been reminded that it harks back to when KO games were best of 3. So I'm going to say that, with our present format, the rule should read:"Captains will toss a coin to decide which team has the odd number offs (1st, 3rd, 5th & 7th) or the even number offs (2nd, 4th, & 6th)" and then each game will start double off.

Well done Catterick Social A - League Champions; they finished 2 points ahead of Holly Hill. Some consolation for Holly Hill, in that Matty Peary won the aggregates with 22 wins from 24 games. Congratulations to Scotton (Doubles Winners) & to Catterick Social A (Nominated Singles Winners); & recognition to the strongest team in the League - Golden Lion (Wooden Spoon Winners). Well done to Chris Thornton, who clinched the Captains Shield for the Cricket Club with his win on Friday.
I AM NOT HAPPY! Catterick Social Club got a call, supposedly from the Ship Inn, saying they had a function on, and couldn't therefore play tonight's game. Having been to the Ship, where their team were waiting to play, and the Buffet was ready, and having been reassured that no call had been made from the Ship, I then contacted Catterick Social B, where the Steward said he will get an itemised phone bill and let me know the number that called them. As there is no way of rearranging this fixture, as Catterick Social already have a game next week, i have made an unprecedented executive decision on this match - I will call it a 5-5 draw, and award each team's top 5 players a win in the Aggregates. When I find out the joker responsible for this fiasco........
Time for trophies to be returned to me, please, CLEAN.

Apparently some teams need reminding about Rule 9a) The draw for every league or K.O. Cup match must be made by 8.30 p.m. on the night, with the first game being played as soon as possible after the draw is made, by 8.35 pm at the latest. Once players are called for their game, they will have a maximum of 9 practice darts.
Re Fewest Darts - My clear understanding is that each game played includes all darts thrown (including those needed to get off)
I have realised that I had not left a clear week at the end of the season. We ALWAYS need one for various reasons, and one of these days I will remember!! We now have 2 games which need to be played in what is now Week 27, so all the end of season fixtures have been moved back one week. I will contact Competition venues individually, and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The game between Castle Tavern and Half Moon was postponed - Half Moon's transport broke down. The game will now be played in Week 27 (March 23rd 2012)
Cricket Club have agreed to play the fixture against Golden Lion at some point to be arranged.
ERIC HARRISON won by Andy Walshaw, who beat Simon Pearson 2-1 in the Final. Impressed by turnout (49 competitors). Thanks to Chris & his team for running it! |
