Medals from 1963 David J. Willcock Ryhope 1st Bass Drummer

These medals are the proud owner of David Willcock. David was Ryhope's 1st Bass Drummer when the band Marched out at our 1st Carnival in Newcastle. Who would have ever thought that the band would still be going strong after all these years. It was my honour and pleasure to have been a member of the band at the very start. May 1st. 1963 was a very special day for us and we were all pretty nervous. The excitement reached a crescendo with the presentation of our very first medal, 2nd. place, awarded to the Bass Drummer (yours truly). I still have that medal plus the medal that was awarded to all members of the band (Ryhope All Stars, 1st. year, 1963) If, by any chance, you are interested in seeing these medals, please reply with an email address and I will email pictures to you.
