St. Cuthbert's Sunday School

... meets at the same time as our Sung Eucharist - at 10a.m. in the Hall. It’s open to all children aged three years and upwards.

Sunday School Leaders have worked out a programme leading through the rest of the winter and spring. Until half-term we’ll be looking at the early life of Jesus, from the time Mary and Joseph first took him to the Temple as a baby, to their return visit when he was twelve, and the life Jesus would have led growing up in Nazareth.

After half-term we’ll be studying the stained glass of our church - what are the stories they tell? There’ll be a chance to work on some designs. And of course there’s Mothering Sunday, Holy Week and Easter to look forward to - that’s just a start.

Often we contribute to services for all ages in church. And we have fun on outings from time to time. These pictures were taken on our summer visit to Bede's World and St. Paul's Church, Jarrow - home of the Venerable Bede.

Getting started

Our party receives a brief introduction to monasticism - in the ancient church of St. Paul, Jarrow.

St. Bede the Venerable

is the inspiration of the project which bears his name.
