SOUTH BANK RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION (FOUNDED 1987)
In 1987 a meeting took place at 11 Hawthorn Terrace South Bank. Like minded residents truly representative in the interests of South Bank.
These people from a small begining in Hawthorn Terrace developed quickly and in the early 1990's a larger meeting place was required so they used the Neighbourhood Centre.
In the new Millenium the year 2000 premises were secured at 114 Normanby Road South Bank.
Local Bookmaker Reg Boyle was the provider of an excellent facility he even arranged for the redecoration of the premises.
With SBRA establishing recognition as a thriving pro active Resident Association. It has now attracted contributions from organisations such as Awards for All, Northern Rock, Huntsman, BBC's Aufweidersein Pet,
This has enabled issues of a wide and varied range to be tackled successfully on anti social behaviour, social inclusion, Football Strategy development,Ellis Cup, Private Landlord issues, Housing, Cleaner Invironment, Railway Station, and numerous individual resident issues in the fight to help develop a safer and more tolerant society towards a Sustainable Community.
