¨ Minutes of July meeting – There was an emergency meeting held in July, which discussed the price increase that Griersons had imposed on the hire of the coaches. As this was a formal meeting minutes were taken and presented to the monthly meeting.

1/ Minutes passed as a true record
2/ Matters arising – Payments to committee members. Honoraria was withheld from those eligible until the October meeting when the club would have a better understanding of how the price rise for the bus would impact on finances. Proposal from Jimmy that payments should now be paid as the club shows a healthy balance in the funds, seconded by Keith. All payments to be made at the November meeting.

¨ Presentation – The presentation for Shay Given’s Player of the Year award should be able to go ahead but Michael has to re-contact the club when Shay resumes training in mid November.

¨ Golden Tickets – The club have sold £84 worth of tickets for the draw so far, tickets will also be sold on the Bolton bus prior to the draw, which will be made on that bus.

AOB

¨ Manchester United New Years Day – Michael brought to the meeting the need to discuss this fixture as there will be no public transport on this date. This item was then further split into 2 separate topics as follows:

¨ Bus fares for Bank Holiday games – For games that fall on a Bank Holiday Griersons increase the cost of coach hire by a further £25, to minimise the increased cost to the club it was proposed that the club should make special price arrangements for these games. 3 proposals were put to the meeting A/ Charge everybody a set fee of £5 per member to travel on Bank Holidays. B/ Make an increase of 50p per person across the board. C/ Make no changes to the current price structure. Option A was dismissed as it felt that by only increasing senior citizens and under 16’s this might alienate a lot of members. Option B was put to a vote, should the vote not be in favour of this option then option C would be the chosen option. Vote of 5-1 in favour of option B. As of New Years Day 2007 all Bank Holiday games will see a price increase of 50p on top of normal bus fare rates.

¨ Travel Arrangements – As there will be no public transport on New Years Day, the club will again enforce a rule where all people wishing to travel on this bus must have a pre paid bus ticket for this match. Tickets will be available to all members during November, any spare tickets will go on sale to non members in December. Tickets will only be sold through Michael so that a record can be maintained of how many seats have been sold.

¨ Paul raised the point that there has been a drop in the number of people entering the Fantasy League and Mystic Mag this year. This was discussed at length in the meeting the reason behind this, it was felt that the club had presented to many options for members which required payments at one time, ie subscriptions (£2), bus fare increase (£5), premiersweep (£2), mystic mag (£2), fantasy league (£1) and the golden ticket draw (£2) which meant a member could on their 1st bus of the season be asked to pay a total of £14, which in hindsight the committee felt was to much. John proposed that the club at the next AGM hold a strategy meeting in which we will look at how and when opportunities to make money for the club should be marketed.

¨ Contact Number Cards – Michael has produced these cards which will be given to all those travelling on the bus.

¨ Quiz won be Jimmy, Paul and Keith.

¨ Date of next meeting 6/11/06

¨Matters Arising – Michael will now contact Newcastle to arrange a presentation date for the Player of the Year award to Shay Given.

¨Statement of Accounts – Report given to meeting, club show a healthy balance for the start of the season, slight profit continues to be made from the bus.

¨ Membership – Currently there are 68 paid members for this season, on par with last year.

¨Telegraph Fantasy League – No report given to meeting – meeting assumes that we are not doing very well.

¨Sedgefield Mags Fantasy League – 1st report of the season given to the meeting, there have been 13 entries into this season fantasy league, winner of the 1st manager of the month was Jimmy Colledge with 505 points, Lee Armes is currently in 7th as he attempts to keep hold of the title won last season, Eddie and Kathryn continue in the same mould as last season by propping the table up. The draw was also made for the group stages of the cup, as with previous seasons the top 2 from each group will go through to the knockout stages of the compition. The groups are:

Group A Group B Group C Group D
Keith Armes Neil Armes Paul Armes Martin Davison
Michael Colledge Jimmy Colledge Mark Colledge John Davison
Lewis Nicholson Jamie Colledge Lee Armes Eddie & Kathryn

Sedgefield Mags Monthly Meeting 8/1/2007

¨Members Present – John Davison (chair), Michael Colledge (Sec), Paul Armes, Eddie Buist, Paul Davison, Keith Armes, Dennis Clark & Jimmy Colledge.

¨Apologies of Absence – Mark Colledge, & Martin Davison

¨Minutes of last Meeting – Minutes of last meeting passed as true record.

¨Matters Arising – Man Utd bus from New Years Day - despite selling tickets a number of people turned up without tickets, fortunately all were accommodated in spite of the fact that Griersons had sent a 53 seater bus instead of the ordered 57. Should the correct bus have been used then there would have been no need for John and Mark to stand, however it has turned out to be the most profitable bus of the season so far making £66.50. John mentioned that the Arsenal home game will fall on Easter Monday, again the 50p extra rule will be applied, however no tickets will be sold as there will be a limited public transport service on that day.

¨ Premier Sweep – All winners have been paid out they were:

1 CLUB Man Utd D. Hodgekiss
5 CLUB Bolton P. Armes
10 I. Collingwood Aston Villa R. Osbaldestan
15 E.Buist Man City G. Richards
20 Rossi Watford Lee Megan Joseph

¨ Statement of Accounts – Report given to meeting, club continue to show a healthy balance, which alleviates the fears that the committee had at the start of season with the increase in travel costs.

¨ FA Cup Travel – As Newcastle only drew at Birmingham, Sedgefield Mags will now be running a bus to the 3rd round reply 17/1/2007, as the club had previously advertised this. Should we get through to the 4th round a survey will be taken on the West Ham bus to find out how many people plan on going to the game and if a bus will be required.

¨ Membership Jrs Christmas – Due to the significant increase in the number of junior members this season it was proposed to give all junior members £5 plus a card, instead of the usual £10, vote of 7/0 in favour of this.

¨Telegraph Fantasy League – “Not a lot of progress”

¨Sedgefield Mags Fantasy League – Manager of the month for December was Neil Armes, his Neil Madrid side gained 264 points 7 more than John Davison. Jimmy Colledge still leads the table with 853 points 40 ahead of Mark Colledge, with last years champion Lee Armes in 3rd place a further 2 points behind. This seasons cup looks like being a tight affair with only 2 teams sure of qualification to the next stage with only 1 round of matches left.

¨ Shay Given Presentation –Presentation went very well at the Watford game, the presentation party of Helen Colledge (jr member), Joan Hunt, Paul Davison and Gordon Richards all remarked on how good a time they had. Thanks must also go to Paul Armes for purchasing the award at such short notice. A photo of the presentation took place, although Michael is yet to receive it from the club, when he does a copy will be made and given to those that presented the award.

¨ Driver Collection – a collection was held on the Spurs bus for Rossi, John reported to the meeting that Rossi appeared to have done well out off the whip round. However, Michael had been approached from a member on that bus saying how he felt the club should have provided a free bus for the spurs game and then people would have put their bus fare into the whip round and Rossi would have felt more benefit. The member did go on to state that he does not put into the yearly collection. It was pointed out to the member that there was no free bus due to finance pressure placed on the club this year due to the travel increases, however his concern had been noted, and at his wish the matter was brought to the attention of tonight’s meeting. The meeting notes the comments of the member, but dismisses them due to the above explanation given to the member.

¨ Next Meeting – 5/2/07

AOB

¨ Confirmation that Sedgefield Mags will not be running a bus to the upcoming UEFA Cup tie.

¨ Quiz held which was won by Paul, Keith and Eddie.
