Sedgefield Mags Monthly Meeting 5/2/2007
¨Members Present – John Davison (chair), Michael Colledge (Sec), Paul Armes, Eddie Buist, Ralph Richards, John Roche, Keith Armes, Dennis Clark & Jimmy Colledge.
¨Apologies of Absence – Mark Colledge, Gordon Richards, Paul Davison & Martin Davison.
¨Minutes of last Meeting – Minutes of last meeting passed as true record.
¨Matters Arising –None that will discussed during meeting.
¨ Alec Short – John informed the meeting of the sad news that Alec Short had died just prior to last Wednesday nights game against Aston Villa. John proposed that club either send flowers or make a donation to the choice of the family, as in previous member bereavements. Vote of 9/0 in favour of this, inquiries had been made before the meeting as to the families wishes regarding flowers, family were happy to accept. Michael to arrange. Church service will be at Trimdon Village 12.30pm, all welcome to attend.
¨ Premier Sweep – Any money owing to be paid to Dennis
¨ Statement of Accounts – Report given to meeting, despite heavy loss of the FA Cup tie and a slight loss v Aston Villa the club maintain the same balance as December, mainly due to the Man Utd bus on New Years Day.
¨ FA Cup Travel – The club made a heavy loss for the FA Cup tie v Birmingham City, only 7 members used the bus, in hindsight the cancellation of this bus should have occurred, however at the start of the season the club committed itself to running buses to the FA Cup. Future FA Cup travel arrangements will be reviewed at the next AGM.
¨Telegraph Fantasy League – another encouraging report to the meeting from Paul “pretty garbage” need we say anymore.
¨Sedgefield Mags Fantasy League – Manager of the month for January was Martin Davison his Bowburn United side scored 154, 8 clear of Kathleen Devine with Jamie Colledge, Michael Colledge and Keith Armes tied for 3rd with 132. Jimmy Colledge maintains his lead at the top but he now only leads by 19 points, only 39 points separate the top 6 teams, the transfer window will never be more critical than this year.
This seasons cup group stages have finished and the draw has been made for the ¼ finals, this season sees top group teams playing 2nd placed teams in a seeded draw. The draw for the ¼ final will be:
Michael Colledge v Jimmy Colledge
Jamie Colledge v Keith Armes
Lee Armes v Martin Davison
Kathleen Devine v Mark Colledge
Paul brought up a valid point for next season’s cup. Currently, if points are tied the team with the most points for goes through, however if there is a group with an uneven number of teams, the team that receives the buy for December is at a disadvantage, as more games are played in December than any other month. Paul proposes that next season points difference comes into play instead of points scored, all those present at meeting in favour, for ratification at the next AGM.

¨Members Present – John Davison (chair), Michael Colledge (Sec), Paul Armes, Eddie Buist, Martin Davison, Keith Armes, Dennis Clark & Jimmy Colledge.

¨Minutes of last Meeting – Minutes of last meeting passed as true record.
¨Matters Arising –None that will discussed during meeting.
¨ Alec Short –Since the last meeting the funeral of Alec has taken place, the service that was held in Trimdon, was well attended by members of Sedgefield Mags. As with previous occasions a flower spread was sent from the club to the family, for which both John and Michael have been thanked for, from various family members.
¨ Statement of Accounts – Only 1 bus last month, which made slight profit, but due to other expenses the club made a loss of £19 for the month.
¨Sedgefield Mags Fantasy League – Manager of the month for February was Keith Armes his Useless B’s scored 206 points, 6 ahead of Michael Colledge in 2nd. Jimmy Colledge maintains his lead at the top 19 points clear of Lee Armes. It would appear that this season’s winner will come from a team in the top 4 unless somebody has a late run. As for the wooden spoon, that appears to be returning to it’s current home with Eddie and Kathryn well adrift at the bottom of the table.
The results from the ¼ final where:
Michael Colledge v Jimmy Colledge 200 - 189
Jamie Colledge v Keith Armes 155 - 206
Lee Armes v Martin Davison 197 - 168
Kathleen Devine v Mark Colledge 168 - 150
Jamie Colledge was the only group winner not to progress into the semi-finals.
The semi-final draw was as follows:
Lee Armes v Kathleen Armes
Michael Colledge v Keith Armes

¨ Shay Given Presentation – Michael has e-mailed Newcastle now that Shay is playing again, to arrange a new date for the re-take of the presentation photograph, currently waiting a response.
¨ Web Site – Due to Michael not observing the new up loads rules from Lycos, the Sedgefield Mags website has appeared un-updated for several months, this however has now been resolved.
¨ Next Meeting – 2/4/07
AOB
¨ Quiz held which was won by Paul, Keith and Eddie on the last question.
¨ Michael informed the meeting the news that Fishburn Boys under 13 team had won their league this season. The team contains a number of junior members. Congratulations to all those involved from Sedgefield Mags
Sedgefield Mags Monthly Meeting 21ST MAY 2007
Minutes of monthly meeting held 2/4/2007
¨Members Present – John Davison (chair), Michael Colledge (Sec), Eddie Buist, Lee Armes, Keith Armes, Dennis Clark & Jimmy Colledge. Paul Armes arrived lat in meeting
¨Apologies of Absence – Mark Colledge, Martin Davison & Paul Davison
¨Minutes of last Meeting – Minutes of last meeting passed as true record.
¨Matters Arising –None that will discussed during meeting.
¨ Statement of Accounts – 2 buses have been run in the last month, for which the club has made a slight profit of £49 over the month. Clubs finances continue to have a healthy balance.
¨ Subsidised Club Events – At the start of the season it had been agreed that with the increase in cost of bus hire, the club would review any prize money offered to club events at a later date and on each of it’s merits. With the end of the season almost in sight, a final decision on prize money was required. Due to a poor turn out in the Mystic Mag this year it was put to the meeting that a reduced prize of £30 be awarded to the winner – vote of 7/0 in favour of this (Paul Armes not in attendance at time of vote). The fantasy league and fantasy league cup were looked at and after a review of the clubs accounts and what was to be deducted at the end of the season, it was put to the meeting that all fantasy league prize monies were to remain at previous levels – vote 7/0 in favour (Paul Armes not in attendance at time of vote).
Competition Place Prize Fund
Fantasy League WINNER £ 60
Fantasy League Runner Up £ 30
Fantasy League Last £ 10
Fantasy League Cup WINNER £ 40
Fantasy League Cup Runner Up £ 10
Prize money to be reviewed at AGM.
¨ Premier League Sweep – Most people have now paid up until the end of the season for those who have not yet paid could you please ensure Dennis receives all monies before the end of the season.
¨ Sedgefield Mags Fantasy League – Manager of the month for March was Keith Armes his Useless B’s scored 164 points, 3 ahead of Jimmy Colledge in 2nd. Jimmy Colledge has extended his lead at the top to 42 points clear of Lee Armes. Last month it was thought that any of the top 4 would be in with a chance of winning the league but with only 6 weeks to go it would appear that the winner can only come from Jimmy Colledge or Lee Armes as Michael Colledge in 3rd would have to make up an almost uncatchable 58 points. As for the wooden spoon, that appears to be returning to it’s current home with Eddie and Kathryn well adrift at the bottom of the table.
Results from the semi-final:
Lee Armes v Kathleen Armes 138 - 139
Michael Colledge v Keith Armes 142 - 164
With the defeat of Lee Armes it remains that no person has ever retained the Fantasy League Cup.
This Years final will be between Keith Armes and Kathleen Devine
¨Man of the Match –
Results of this months Player of the Month:
This month the player of the month proved to be the most contentious month in recent memory as most of the voting panel could not nominate anybody for player of the month due to the lack of effort and poor performances of the team in the last month, Michael eventually put his nomination of Butt and Solano to the meeting which was then agreed by everybody else present.

Confirmation should arrive sometime this week. Michael will contact all those members when confirmation has been gained.
¨ Web Site – There remain some slight anomalies with the site, but on the whole it is now up and running again.

¨ John informed the meeting that the Chelsea game had been put back to a 1.30 kick off on Sunday 22nd April. Bus to leave Sedgefield at 10.55am
¨ Next Meeting, Michael brought to the attention that the next meeting would in fact be the 14th of May as the 7th of May is a bank holiday and no meetings are held on a bank holiday, along side this Michael requested a date for the AGM to be held, after a short discussion it was agreed that the AGM will be held on May 21st and will incorporate the monthly meeting. The club will provide food for all members in attendance.
¨ Quiz held which was won by Paul, Keith, Lee and Eddie.
Due to the fact that the next monthly meeting will be held along side the AGM there will be no more voting months for the Player of the season – James Milner is therefore nominated as Sedgefield Mags Player of the Year.
