MATTERS ARISING
A member had reported a damaged garage in Hammond Drive. The Council Member said that he and another Council Member had been and had a look at it and the work would be started shortly
Litter behind the local public house had not been dealt with. The Council Member said that the street clean programme had raised concerns in all areas. In addition, someone else had gone on a walk about to check on complaints in other areas.
Concerns were brought up about the timetable and map for the local bus service that serves the area and the Secretary said they would write to the bus company and also the Council Member for the buses and ask who draws up the bus timetables and who prints them.
CORRESPONDENCE
The Secretary had received none
A member said that the "building bridges" conference that was supposed to be held on 24/9/06 was cancelled due to unforseen circumstances and was now on at the same place but now on 7/1/07.
All members from the local area had recieved letters from Miller Homes stating that they had submitted an planning application to Darlington Borough Council and the plans can be viewed in the Town Hall.
REPORTS
One of the Police Officers reported that an article on crime prevention would be going into the next edition of Skernews. All operations on Skerne Park are still ongoing. There has been a small increase in burglary many through open windows and doors which has been left unlocked.
The Council Member reported on the shrub beds. after a door knocking exercise in 2 streets on Skerne Park and asking the residents views. They are looking at doig something to one in two beds so that they do not look so bare and this is ongoing.
A residents left a report about motorbikes and stated that is was not as bad as it was but it is still a big nuisance. Weekends and after school is the worst time.
The Meeting was closed at 7PM and the next meeting was on 1/11/06 at 6PM. |
