The 2003 Reunion
 | One of the handouts
The reunion on Tuesday 7th October was a great success with over 100 turning up and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Certainly, a lot of memories emerged shaking off the cobwebs and the room echoed with exclamations of "Ee! How are you...?"
Unfortunately there were still a fair number who promised to turn up but failed to do so. They missed a good time. Also there were some who had arranged their holidays at the wrong time but we hope they'll get it right next year. And there were even a few who decided to dodge the cover charge!
Organisers Marlene (Tranter) Dales and Pamela (Gatenby) Murtha manned the entrance desk ably assisted by Barbara Wilson. Because they don't know who if any will turn up they have a small cover charge for the cost of the room and disco, and there is also a raffle of donated prizes. Any surplus goes to a charity.
This year the surplus was a record £182 which is to be donated to the charity raising funds to help Breast Cancer. To even the score they have already decided that next year's donation will be for Prostrate Cancer! Nice one girls!!
The photos following this are not placed in any particular order and I keep forgetting names so if you know anyone not identified under any photo write in with it identifying which photo you mean.
Thanks. |

 | Dan Pluck and Keith Craddy
I said earlier that everyone enjoyed themselves. A possible exception was Keith Craddy (Rose's son) who had expected to see some from his age group but he was the only one. However, he told me that he had always wanted to meet Dan Pluck who he only knew by reputation. I arranged their meeting and I think Keith was surprised to find that he was bigger than Dan who has reduced from the nineteen and a half stone of his weightlifting days to a trim, fit, thirteen stone. |

I didn't recognise Gene when I first saw him because he looked so young. It can't be right - he's supposed to have hair like the rest of us!
Incidentally, Gene lives at Filey but didn't let the distance stop him from getting here on the night yet some live just down the road but the effort was too great!! |

I had just been looking at a photo brought in by Clive Cooper of a Cromwell Road School Football Team with Hughie and Brian Briggs in the line up. It's now on the Cromwell Road page.
Also, at some time in the evening, someone gave me a sheet of paper which I had put in my pocket.
It mentions Hughie so I'll copy it here:
