1. Time Your Holidays
 | I made sure we were back from America for the reunion
The reunion is held every year on the first Tuesday of October at The Normanby Hotel, Normanby. Next year it will be on the 3rd.
I mention this because a couple of people said they had wanted to attend but had booked their holidays and would be away.
Well, they can't have any excuse for Tuesday 3rd of October 2006!
About the picture above...
My second daughter Julie lives in Maryland near Washington DC and we had a great time there on holiday. There are plenty of places in the malls where they are eager to picture you with the President which just goes to prove he is useful for one thing and, of course, the newspapers like us visiting dignitaries!!

2. Make a note...
 | On the night Alan Purvis and John Chard were there
There weren't as many there as on previous years but it was still a good turn out and an enjoyable occasion.
We've just got to ensure that more attend next time so make a note!
Incidentally, after costs, there was a surplus of £100 which was donated to the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Marlene received a nice letter of thanks from Pippa Holt, the Financial Controller who explained that the charity receives no government support and relies solely on donations such as ours to support their two helicopters based in Durham Tees Airport and in Cumbria. |
