CHRIS WATSON HAT TRICK ON DEBUT

First match of the new season and four goals in the first 15 mins. Stokesley took the lead after 4 mins but 10 mins later we were 3-1 up CHRIS WATSON with 2 goals on his Debut and ANTHONY GREGORY, before Stokesley pulled another one back there was still time for CHRIS WATSON to wrap up a 1st half hat trick after 40 mins.
Second half was all Bankers as we hit the post twice through Gregory and Ricky Phillips, we went 5-2 up when Ricky Phillips chipped the ball over the Stokesley defence and onto the feet of GREGORY who cooly slotted home, we had to wait till the 75th minute for the goal of the game when the ball broke to another debutant CASSIDY who jinked past two defenders and unleashed an unstoppable drive into the top corner from all of 25 yards.

SUBSTITUTE REED STEALS SHOW WITH FINE HAT TRICK

Billy Bedingfield took over as acting Manager today in my abscence and the lads pulled it together to win easily. First Half was quite an even affair with the teams going in at Half time level at 1-1 our goal scored by GRAM WATSON a 20 yard curler that dipped just under the bar. 2nd half we started well with the prolific CHRIS WATSON getting his 4th in 2 games and KEVIN WATSON heading home a Ricky Phillips corner, then the moment that changed the game when ANTHONY REED came off the bench to notch a hat trick in less than 10 mins all well taken goals that will do his confidence the world of good and will benefit the team throughout the season.

FRENCH CLASS TO SEAL VICTORY

A very tight close 1st half which ended 1-1 Ennis took the lead after we should have cleared our lines then 10 mins before half time Sub Peter Hoe somehow managed to keep the ball from going out and delivered a perfect cross for ANTHONY REED to tap home.
In the 2nd half we wore them down and had many chances to wrap the game up Terry Mcclaughlin set ANTHONY REED away for his 2nd then with minutes to go ALAN FRENCH got himself on the end of a Anthony Reed cross to cap a Man of the Match performance.

TEN MAN BANKERS SUPERB IN 6-0 DRUBBING

We Started todays game with the bare 11 and when John Lodge went off after 20 mins we played on with 10 until a late substitute in the 60th minute, with the score at 1-0.
The superb RICKY PHILLIPS curled straight in the top corner from his own Corner, then on the half hour ANTHONY GREGORY settled our nerves putting us 2-0 up and then KEVIN WATSON made it 3 on the stroke of half time. Our ten men were playing like soldiers every one of them working for each other and putting 110%into every thing after the break St Marys had there first decent effort but this was matched by a wonderful fingertip save from our Keeper Mick Rounding. Peter Renton arrived with half an hour remaining and this enabled us to turn the screw tighter firstly ANTHONY GREGORY got his 2nd of the match then Sub PETER RENTON scored a 20 yard screamer and current top scorer ANTHONY REED rounded off the best display of the season from the bankers.

PHILLIPS DISMISSAL BANKERS FIRST DEFEAT

This match was one that myself and the players need to forget about very quickly we just werent at the races today we huffed and puffed but nothing was there. We went 1-0 just before the break and we went down to 10 men within 2 minutes. After the break we started better and chances came off the post and the bar they got a second on the break and although we pulled one back through ANTHONY REED it wasnt to be we have to pick ourselves up from this and learn.

GREGORY BRACE BAGS POINTS

A much better all round performance with each player making the effort to get the points in the Bag. The game itself was very tight for the 1st 15 mins with Steelies limiting our chances and the ball struggled to get out of the middle after 30 mins the deadlock was broken a cross from Gregory was met by Calvin Foley whos effort seemed to be handled on the line but JOHN LODGE made no mistake with the follow up slamming it in the top of the net, 5 mins later we were 2-0 up again a cross from the left was met perfectly by GREGORY on the turn who buried it in the bottom right hand corner leaving Steelies Keeper Attwood stranded. Just before half time a needless free kick was given away on the edge of our box and we were punished as David Mills scored a deflected free kick. Half time SP 2 AS 1

In the second half it was pretty nervy with the score so tight but our nerves were eased when Andy Truscott split the defence with an inch perfect pass to the feet of JOHN LODGE who calmly rounded the Keeper for his 2nd goal, 10 mins later GREGORY unleashed an unstoppable drive into the top corner after good work from John Webster, although Steelies pulled another one back we hung on deservedly for the 3 points.

POOR SHOWING FROM BANKERS SEALS FATE

Another narrow defeat in a game where we just never got started and could not seem to string two passes together, Corus were 2-0 up at the break 2 goals from their Man of the Match James Swann. Second half we tightened it up at the back and should have pulled one back from the spot but the Keeper pulled a great stop to deny Anthony Gregory, we did pull a goal back when JOHN LODGE thundered a low drive into the bottom corner. We had chances to level it but it wasnt to be and we would not have deserved it.

HITMAN GREGORY WITH FINE HAT TRICK

A strange first half with both sides sharing 4 goals, firstly Billy Bedingfield put through his own net and we equalised straight away through CHRIS WATSON then they scored from a corner and we equalised again straight away this time ANTHONY GREGORY pulled us level.
The second half was a very one sided affair with our keeper only making the one save. We got 2 penalties within 10 minutes first JOHN LODGE put his away after Chris Watson was hacked down and the ANTHONY GREGORY cooly sidefooted his penalty home after Anthony Reed was brought down. On 75 mins the goal of the game a ball over the top for ANTHONY GREGORY who beat the defender for pace to get to the ball and buried it into the top corner, the scoring was completed when the impressive ANTHONY REED toe poked home capitalising on some hesitancy in the coulby defence. A Good all round performance and a lot better to watch than previous weeks.

ICE COOL REED BAGS WIN TO PROGRESS TO NEXT ROUND

A perfect start as we took the lead within the 1st 5 mins a well worked move ending with GREGORY grabbing his 10th goal of the season, this remarkably is how it remained till half time as we missed chance after chance the game should have been over at half time.

We started the second half the same as the 1st Alan French broke down the right and delivered the perfect ball for JOHN LODGE to nod home for 2-0 we continued to miss numerous chances and paid the price as Smithy pulled 1 back to set up a tense final 10 mins but Substitute ANTHONY REED eased the pressure when he broke from his own half beat the Keeper and tapped home for 3-1.

WATSON HITS 5 AS BANKERS CLIMB TO 2ND

A blistering 8 minute Hat Trick from GRAM WATSON set the Bankers away today at North Skelton. All goals were taken with class and on the 15 minute mark ANDY TRUSCOTT struck a sweet half volley into the net, before Half time further goals from JOHN WEBSTER another from ANDY TRUSCOTT AND GRAM WATSONS 4th. Bulls head to their credit gave a better account of themselves and pulled a goal back they won a penalty and our Keeper Lee Stephenson saved but unlucky for him fell to an opposing player who slotted it into the corner.
Bankers added 3 more before the end CHRIS WATSON tapped home GRAM WATSON with a mazy run and cool finish with his 5th and the scoring ended with JOHN WEBSTER shouldering one over the keepers head.

GREGORY BACK ON TRACK WITH 4 GOALS

We went ahead after 2 minutes when ANTHONY GREGORY ran down a loose back pass and the ball fell kindly for him, he was on the scoresheet again after 15 mins when he drove the ball across the box and it somehow ended up in the back of the net. Gregory was getting away from the defence at ease and on the half hour he broke again forcing the Keeper into a good save but the ball fell back to his feet and he squared it for GRAEME WATSON who sidefooted home next on the scoresheet was PETER RENTON who sent a piledriver through the packed penalty area in the Second half we took our foot off the peddle but were still comfortable ANTHONY GREGORY got his 4th to finish the scoring on 75 minutes.

BEDINGFIELDS 1ST NOT ENOUGH FOR BANKERS

Match of the Day in the Stokesley league Today and it certainly lived up to its billing. A very evenly matched game with both sides going for it 100% Rudds took the lead when JAMES MYERS headed home from a corner, we equalised 15 mins later when BILLY BEDINGFIELD scored his 1st St Peters goal, Alan French went close to giving us the lead when his effort from 20 yards struck the bar and Rudds hit the bar 2 mins from Half time. The game was heading for a draw when a well worked move from Rudds fell to KARL LILEY who beat Mick Rounding at his near post, overall we deserved at least a point but this match was a great advertisement for the Stokesley League.

RICKY INSPIRATIONAL AS BANKERS RUN RIOT

We made a comfortable passage into the semi finals at the expense of a out of sorts Smithy side. We took the lead from the penalty spot as ANTHONY GREGORY slotted home ten minutes later it was 2-0 as Gregory turned provider as he squared for JOHN LODGE, just before half time we made it 3-0 as Alan French ran to the bye line and GRAEME WATSON tapped home. ANTHONY GREGORY scored the goal of the game when he looped the ball over the defenders head Gazza style and volleyed home We took our foot off the peddle and Smithy pulled one back but we got our act together and further goals from ANTHONY GREGORY AND JOHN LODGE 2 sealed the victory.
