Club Aims
The principle aims of the club are as follows:-
1. To encourage the production of video as an art form and medium of entertainment, information and education.
2. To promote an understanding of developments in both analogue and digital techonology and of the use of computers in the editing field.
Rules Governing The Club's Competitions.
1. Autumn, Spring, Five Minute and Novices Competitions.
The competitions are open to videos on any subject.
2. Annual Competition.
This is open to all videos including those shown in any previous competitions except the Annual Competition.
*** SPECIAL NOTICE ***
A member may make more than one entry in each competition. However, if time does not allow for multiple entries, each member must nominate, at the time of entry, his or her first choice of video.
The content of an entry must predominantly be the work of a Member submitting it and any visual material obtained from other sources must NOT exceed 10% of the total running time.
FRED PALIN ROSE BOWL
Open to members who enter any of the Club's Autumn, Spring or Five Minute competitions. Judging is based on the total aggregate marks awarded to the member's highest placed entry in each competition.
To be held for one year and returned on the due date to the competition secretary to enable it to be engraved in time for the annual presentation of awards.
OTHER RULES
1. The competitions are only open to members of the club.
2. In the event of there being only one entrant in any competition that competition will be null and void.
3. Whether re-edited or not:
a) A video may be entered only once in either the Autumn, Spring or Five Minute competition and only once in the Annual competition.
b) A video may be intered in only one section of the Fred Palin Rose Bowl.
4. A certificate will be awarded to first place in each competition.
A certificate will also be awarded to second place in the annual competition.
6. The decision of the competition sub-committee will be final and binding.
7. Entries will be limited to a maximum running time of 20 minutes.
