An Introduction to Staindrop Comprehensive School
 Staindrop Comprehensive School caters for all children between the ages of 11 and 16. In September 2000 there will be approximately 530 pupils at the school.
Set on the western edge of the historic village of Staindrop and overlooking rolling fields and farms, Staindrop Comprehensive is without doubt one of the most attractively situated schools in the region.

School History
| The school was originally opened in 1963 and since then has been extensively improved, to include an impressive range of facilities: fully equipped computer suites, a modern and attractive library, a fitness room, an indoor climbing wall, a photography darkroom, a pottery room and specialist classrooms for all curriculum areas. |  |
