A Fantastic Show
 | On Thursday 8th July,2004 twenty boys and girls entertained us at Redcar Cricket Club where I help to organise the Friendship Group for Widows and Widowers which meet every Thursday in the Club.I first heard this talented group in St Albans School and after frantic phone calls I managed to get them to entertain our group because they were in such demand.A total of £130 was raised between our group and members of Redcar Cricket Club.Thankyou
Below tells their story-
In 2002 during a visit to Uganda, Sarah Burnett began to rescue children in Bugolobi from a life of neglect, illness, hardship and in some cases abuse.Firstly, she found out in Uganda for around £30 per month she could provide all the necessities, and a few luxuries in life, for one child.Realising what a difference £30 would make she immediately rescued her first child.Next she identified a further 12 urgent cases, came back to Britain and asked her friends for help.Sarah now lives in Uganda and New Beginnings, was formally registered as a Charity in August 2003.They are a Christian organisation and believe that God loves us and has a plan for all of us including all children all over the world.
Within two years New Beginnings has over 50 children under it's wing.Currently there are many more needy children in Uganda. Some are orphans living on the streets, some live in shacks with extended families. They are forced to work and are denied an education, beaton, neglected, sometimes married off at a young age---The list goes on.
If you would like to know more about this Charity or how you can help please e-mail carolbrotherston@amserve.com or sarahjcislord@hotmail.com.Alternatively, in Scotland telephone 01387252464 or write to New Beginnings for Children 1 Marchfield Place, Dimfries DG1 1GQ.In England telephone 02392 691486 or write to Mrs Rook 44 Gatcombe Ave, Portsmouth PO3 5HG.
The chilren play and sing with great gusto and I hope it won't be long before we see them back in the area. In the mean time we wish Sarah and her children every good wish for the future. |
