NEWSFLASH NEWSFLASH NEWSFLASH NEWSFLASH
The Folk Club has had to close until spring 2005. The Club had to take this sad decision when it lost it venue due to staffing problems in October 2004. In 2004 the Queens Head was bought over and there were staffing problems at the weekend. We hope that the new owners will be re-opening again on Sunday Nights in 2005. SO WATCH THIS SPACE for news of the re-opening and the new 2005 programme.

The Club meets on the First Sunday of every month at the Queens Head Pub, Front Street, Stanhope, Weardale at 8.15pm. Admission is free. The Club has a loyal and talented band of local musicians and singers, not overlooking the friendly audience.

Musicians, singers, story tellers and poets of all levels of ability will be made to feel at home.

Disabled access - there are 2 small outside steps with hand rail on each side of entry. Sorry no disabled toilets yet.

Stanhope Open Air Swimming Pool - opens the end of May 2005

Stanhope's 25m heated swimming pool - heated to 80 degrees, again opens for business at the end of May 2005. Managed by volunteers, the pool is a registered charity. Even if you don't swim, you can still support the swimming pool by coming to its very popular Sunday morning Car Boot sales, held on the last Sunday of the month in the swimming pool carpark. For those of you who have not used Stanhope's hidden aquatic gem, you do not know what you have been missing with its inflatables for the kids, diving board and 3 metre deep end, lane swimming - all at very affordable prices.

Watch out for the Swimming Pool car boot sales which take place on the last Sunday morning of the month within the swimming pool car park.
