Welcome!
 Here are some of the children welcomed into the church by Holy Baptism and our recent candidates for confirmation who are now old enough to confirm their baptismal vows for themselves.

Hollie Ann Wilkinson
 | Hollie Ann, who had recently celebrated her 1st birthday, was baptised in St Cuthbert's church, Forcett on 8 October 2006 during the Family Harvest Festival service.
Our picture shows Hollie with parents, Steven and Emma Wilkinson and five year old brother Thomas.
The church looked particularly beautiful with all the harvest decoration and it was really lovely to have a baptism during this service of thanks for God's gifts. |

Isabel Brook Jean Brown
 | Isabel was baptised in Aldbrough church on 19 November 2006. Friends and family came from Northern Ireland and Middlesbrough for the ceremony and Isabel behaved perfectly. Proud Dad, Wayne, says she loves water.

Confirmation at Forcett
 Six young ladies from the Stanwick Group parishes were confirmed at a service in St Cuthbert's Forcett on 28 January 2007.
The modern style of service meant that they, and other members of the congregation took a more active role in the service than was formerly the case and the girls themselves did all the readings.
Our picture shows them in the chancel with Rt Revd James Bell, Bishop of Knaresborough after the service receiving commemorative books.

Ilinca Jayne Liston
 | On 5 November in St Paul's, Aldbrough St John, Ilinca Jayne Liston was baptised by Stan Haworth. Ilinca is the daughter of Nick and Roxane and the slightly unusual name is because Roxane comes from Romania.
Nick is the son of our Reader Doreen Liston and husband Bill.

Melissa Jane Taylor
 | Melissa was baptised in Forcett church on 25 March 2007.
She is pictured here with her parents Lorraine and Mark and Revd Stan Haworth by the font after the service.
There were many friends and family as well as other members of the congregation from the benefice to welcome Melissa into the family of the church.

Joshua Alexander Whitfield
 | Joshua (aged 4) was baptised at Forcett church on 26 August 2007. Our picture shows him with his parents, Tracy and Andrew Whitfield and Godparents Colin Brown and Helen Swinbank.
Josh was very good and obviously enjoyed the experience.

Thomas Peter Poole
 | Thomas Peter Poole was baptised in Aldbrough church on Sunday 16 Sepember 2007, brought by parents Ian and Jan Poole and surrounded by a crowd of family and friends both from within the village and across the country.
The water with which Thomas was baptised was brought by Jan's parents from a spring at their farm at Mansergh in the Lake District.
Afterwards there was a celebration party in the village hall. |
