We continue to give thanks for the appointment of the Rt Rev Paul Butler as the new Bishop of Durham Designate.
Hospitality and Hope Foodbank
WE CONTINUE TO THANK everyone who has donated towards Hospitality & Hope’s Foodbank. This is an ongoing project and we are continuing to collect donations of food. If you would like to help, please pick up a leaflet from the back of church listing the items we are collecting, there is a basket by the font for donations.
Also, on the second and fourth Friday of every month, there will be a Prayer group meeting to pray for the work of Hospitality & Hope. This will be held in the Committee Room at Brinkburn Community Centre, between 7pm-9pm. All welcome!
THANK YOU to all who helped with or supported the Xmas Fayre last week. We raised £901.33 for church funds.
The PCC will meet on Tuesday 3rd December at 7pm in the Choir vestry.
Christmas Carol Service
The choir is inviting people to nominate their favourite carols, then come along to sing the most popular choices with us! Please write your choices on the forms at the back of the church. Thank you!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CHRISTMAS NIGHT SHELTERS
Hospitality and Hope are organising emergency night shelters over the Christmas/New Year period. H&H ran the night shelters from 8 churches in South Shields town centre area last year, each night at a different venue. They hope to do a similar thing this year. This year the council have asked if they can refer clients, by pre -booking places. If anyone is interested in volunteering, please go to the H&H web site and fill out an enquiry form or phone 07708450526.
CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH & TEA – HELP NEEDED
On Christmas Day Churches Together is organising lunch and tea at St Michael’s Church Hall, Westoe Road, South Shields for people who would like some company. If you know anyone would like to come, please let us know. Also, we need volunteers who can help with preparation of food, washing up, serving and acting as hosts and volunteer drivers who can help with transport either between 11.00 am and 12 noon or around 5pm to 6pm.
