St. Paul’s was initially built in 1875 in Wellington Street, near the centre of Stockton.
Due to the extension of the parish in 1913 a Sunday school was set up in Newtown school. A new Stone church was built on the present site in 1926 although it was never fully completed according to the plans due to lack of funds. It was re-developed in 1966 to become the building it is now.
The old church building was taken down bit by bit and re-erected at Blackhall. It's now called St Andrews |
