Welcome to the Sunderland Embroiderers' Guild

The Sunderland Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild is an organisation which meets once a month at the Haver Hall, St. Nicholas Church, Barnes, Sunderland and welcomes anyone with an interest in embroidery. Our meetings usually last from 2pm to 4pm on the 3rd Saturday of the month and include a speaker, refreshments, information regarding local exhibitions, a sales table, library and a chance to meet other members. We invite a speaker to most of our meetings and they cover a wide variety of topics, e.g. historical, ethnic, traditional and modern, relating to embroidery and textiles. Often their talks are accompanied by a range of slides and samples of work. We also organise workshops for members with all levels of skill and usually have an annual outing to a place of interest to embroiderers.
