Rachmanov play Rachmaninov
Dmitry Rachmanov's mastery of the works of Tchaikovsky, Scriabin and Rachmaninov had the audience on the edges of their seats when he last visited Kirkleatham. A master of the works of Russian composers, Rachmanov conveys the innermost thoughts of the composers directly to the audience.
Dmitry Rachmanov began his studies in Moscow, moved to America, graduated at the Julliard School and took his doctorate at the Manhatten School of Music. In 2002 he joined the faculty of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.

Folk Phenomena Julie Felix returns
Folk singing phenomenon Julie Felix returns to Kirkleatham in June. Following her two sell-out concerts last year, the Friends Of Redcar Music & Arts (FORMA) have booked the folk singing sensation of the sixties to return for two more nights.
"Last year demand was such that tickets almost melted in my hand," said Christine Davis, concert organiser of FORMA.
The one woman show was part of her Highway of Diamond tour and features many of the songs that made her name famous, interspered with anecdotes and recollections of the many names from the 'protest generations' of the 1960s and 1970s. The tour celebrates Julie's 70th birthday the previous weekend and her 45 years in show business.
Tuesday 17 & Wednesday 18 June at 7.30 p.m.
Tickets £12 from FORMA - tel. 01642 477018 (not SWT sources)

Full details of his forthcoming concert are still awaited but we can be assured of a similar eclectic programme.
