Welcome to Teesdale Disability Access Forum
 |
We are a group of disabled and non-disabled volunteers who get together on a regular basis to discuss issues of access to buildings, services and facilities within the Teesdale area. |
|
Our Aims
Our major aims are:
INTEGRATION
By supporting, advising and helping people with a variety of disabilities to play a full and active role in our Teesdale community.
EDUCATION
By raising everybody’s awareness and understanding by providing information for all local people and visitors within our Teesdale area | |
|
WHY DO WE DO IT?
We all know, or have heard of, a disabled person. The disability may be physical, sensory, mental, visible or invisible. Disabilities can also be temporary or permanent.
We want to make everyone aware that the daily problems encountered by our disabled community can be easily overcome with a little foresight, thought and planning.
Small improvements can and do increase independence, quality of life and confidence.
