Some scenes from this years event
Permission had been granted for us to make a special journey at the Teesside Vintage Bus Running Day.
One of the 500 Group buses was used on a journey from the Transporter, via the Newport Bridge and the Haverton Hill terminal and then crossed to the Middlesbrough terminal of the the Transporter Bridge via the Transporter car.
This year the bridge gondola made a special journey carrying only the bus and sixty passengers. This had not been done regularly since the 1970s and provided a unique site for people who attended.
(below) JDC544L, resplendent in its 1973 livery recreated this 1970's scene, here it is disembarking the Transporter car after crossing the Tees to Middlesbrough

Some further scenes from the 2008 event
The 2008 event, which was held on 27th April was very succesfull and attracted 1,500 rider journeys on the 62 services which were operated on the day.
The coach trip and "country bus service" in particular were well very popular.

A coach not previously visiting
The NEBPG brought their Bristol coach to the event
Previouly owned by the late Chris Moyes, it was in the livery of the West Yorkshire Road Car Company, as their fleet number CUG 27. It was a very nice vehicle indeed and is well restored
