Our 2013 Event

1st May 2013
Our 2013 Teesside Running day was held on Sunday 21st April 2013.
We had twenty two buses running on the routes in this year.

Highlights of the event were the “Country Bus” journey to Historic Great Ayton and picturesque Stokesley and of course routes running between Middlesbrough's Transporter Bridge and Stockton on Tees, some extended this year to YARM as the X19

Services started from 11.00 at the Transporter and 10.45 from Stockton's Bridge Road/High Street, over seventy journeys were completed

Over eighteen hundred passenger journeys were made again on the 2013 event.

Make a note in your diary for next year.
DISCOVER MIDLESBROUGH

An X19 vintage main road run

We once again ran some journeys to beautifull and ancient Yarm as the X19 service. The route was Middlesbrough, Stockton High Street, Yarm Town Hall, Crathorne Interchange and then northwards on the A19 direct to the Transporter terminal

This year we used a Bedford YRQ coach of Thornes Independant from Hemingborough, a brand new MAN Neoplan Tourliner tri-axle coach from local operator ROSEBERRY TRAVEL

A special trip over the Transporter Bridge

The Transporter was closed for most of the day because of a BUNJEE JUMP but we had permissison to operate one service over at 1 p,m, from Port Clarence to Middlesbough.
Full size buses regularly used to use the Bridge on services to Hartlepool but there is now normally a weight limit applied to the gondola which precluded this.
It is now over a hundred year since the bridge was opened by the Prince Arthur of Connaught in 1911.

Middlesbrough Council organise a full program of mainenance to keep it operational. We operate from the Bridge forecourt and of course the Visitors Centre is open.
As an added attraction a spectacular Bunjee Jumping session took place from the upper walkway during our event.
