DARLINGTON SUNDAY INVITATION LEAGUE
The league which was established in 1993, is affiliated with Durham FA and is currently sponsored by The Northern Echo
The league has rapidly expanded and currently has 40 teams playing in three divisions.
• With 12 teams in Division’s 1 and 2 , and 16 in Division 3
• Promotion and relegation is on a 3 up and 3 down basis - no play offs.
• Each team plays the other twice - home and away
There are four Cup competitions :-
• First division cup - sponsored by The Darlington & Stockton Times
• Second division cup - sponsored by Darlington Motor Factors
• Third Division Cup – sponsored by - The Killinghall Arms, Middleton St George
• League cup, sponsored by The Northern Echo
• All finals to be played in April or May
The league is administered by a Management Committee. The Committee is very ambitious and always looking to improve and expand the league.
The league has an excellent working relationship with Darlington Referee’s Society, and two of the referee’s are actually members of the Management Committee.
League Meetings are held on the final Wednesday of the month at the RA Club on Brinkburn Road, Darlington.
• Meeting fees are £10 a month with £5 going towards the League’s Benevolent Fund.
• A bottle of champagne is awarded at each meeting to the ‘Manager of the Month’ for each division.

NEW TEAMS
Any new team wishing to join the league will have to
• Have or buy - nets, 2 strips – home and away, supply of balls, first aid kit
• A ground to play its ‘home’ games on
• A Secretary who is the contact point for both the league and Durham FA
