The Korean War (1950-53)

The Nastiest War of the twentieth century. Two new concepts came from this war, Brain Washing when POWs were subjected to indoctrination, and Human Waves, when the Chinese made use of their greatest asset, people. They would attack in thousends the idea being, You can't kill us fast enough we are going to overrun you. At first it succeeded but after the UN got their fire power coordinated, named the Meat Grinder, it didn't.
Korea has been the victim of a tragic historical injustice. At the end of World War 11 it was the state that was not responsible for anything which became divided. Japan, which had occupied and annexed Korea and attacked its neighbours, was not split. Even Austria had its unity restored as the Cold War faded in Europe. Most cruel of all is rhetoric to the effect that Korea is a dagger pointed at Japan: this is the exact opposite of the truth. Korea has never attacked any other country. Rather, it has repeatedly been the victim of attack and interference. It has a right to be left alone, in peace, as a single nation.
