Newtons of Swalwell
Hi

I found your message board while googling for my ancestors.

My paternal grandmother was a Newton who married into the Gilbert family and lived in Whickham. May (or Mary) Gilbert nee Newton was born on 5/5/1908 and married Charles Gilbert. My mother advises me that this branch of the Newton family came predominantly from the Swalwell area.
