Welcome to the Shildon Recall Society on line.
The Shildon Recall Society meet each Thursday evening in the Shildon Centre, Main Street, Shildon from 7.30 to 9 PM. The meetings are informal and include refreshments and the topic of conversation is usually Shildon past present and future.
The Society has a large archive containing information, photographs and photographic slides pertaining to the town, its inhabitants and its past. These resources are used for research, reference and entertainment in the form of slide shows and photographic displays.
We receive letters and e-mails from as far away as Australia requesting information about Shildon, its history and its inhabitants. We try to help all those who contact us although we are not a family history group and do not have the resources for census research etc.
The group is small and friendly, and visitors or new members are always welcome. Why not call in next time your passing? Or e-mail us for further information.
