Teesdale Opportunities For Disabled Youngsters
Delivering quality Activity Days - fun days out for the Youngsters of Teesdale.
When each of the School Holidays come around, we aim to run an Activity Day to give Parents a break and to widen the experiences of the Youngsters.
A wide range of trips are organised - Cinema, Theatre, Swimming, Bowling, Music Workshops, a range of sport activities at Teesdale Sports Centre - including Trampolining and the Gym, Eating Out.. and more recntly TODYS has successfully run residential, 2-night, Activity Breaks.
We visited The Calvert Trust at Kielder in August 2008, and then The Lakes in February 2009, and Kielder in August 2009. Preparations are underway to visit the Lakes site again, over Easter, 2010

ALADDIN
On Tuesday December 22nd 2009, TODYS went on their annual trip to the Pantomime, thanks to the generosity of...
THE CLIQUE of BARNARD CASTLE.
A party of 40 - Youngsters, Volunteers and Family members, went to the Matinee performance of ALADDIN at Darlington Civic Theatre. Some other family members came along, too, for a last-minute Christmas shopping trip - and to enjoy our wonderful Carol Singing on the coach...
THE CLIQUE arranged for SANTA to greet the Youngsters as they gathered at Teesdale Sports Centre, just before setting off to the Pantomime. Santa handed out Pantomime Tickets, Selection Boxes and Christmas Cheer and he arranged for Ices and Drinks at the Theatre, too! Then, SANTA he and his CLIQUE friends, waved the coach party on their way.
Everyone enjoyed the panto - it was brilliant and set everyone up for a Happy Christmas!!! |
