Oblates of the SSPX / Older Vocations
I would love to have an e-mail from someone who has some information on the Oblates of the SSPX, or who is interested in them--perhaps even with someone who is an Oblate or has been in the order at some time. I considered another religious order that was associated with the Society, but was distressed at being told that I must break off almost all communication with family members. (I have no parents and was told that I could talk with each of my 2 sisters only 3 times a year for 20 minutes. I could not ever communicate with friends or any other relatives again, other than to send them a Christmas card.) Do the Oblates have this same strict breaking off of ties with everyone? I have other questions about them too.
I would also love to hear from any other women in their 40s or 50s or 60s (I'm 52) who have felt a calling to the religious life, but don't know exactly where to turn. I appreciate any information anyone can give me. I appreciate an e-mail from anyone who might be interested in a vocation. Thanks.
