The Darlington Hospice

The Hospice movement in Darlington is 15 years old and today provides a range of services for both patients and their families/carers.

These include:

Day Care

Car for the Carers
Education

It has shops in Darlington, Barnard Castle, Leyburn and Shildon.

The hospice movement in the UK was founded in 1967 by Dr Cicely Saunders. The name, Hospice, means "something inbetween a hospital and a home" and as such provides the skills of the former and the warmth and time of the latter.
