27 - 30 May and 28 - 31 October
The Unicorn Centre will be hosting two RDA holidays this year at a cost of £155 per person. (deposit £55)
For the May holiday, accommodation will be provided at the Carlton in Cleveland Education Centre at the foot of the Cleveland Hills in the beautiful Yorkshire National Park. You will stay in the newly built residential unit with all disabled facilities.
Mornings will be based at the Unicorn Centre for riding, horse care, horsey fun and competitions. We have twenty fully trained horses and ponies, so there will be plenty of riding opportunities using our indoor and outdoor arenas and two hours of off-road field and bridleway hacking.
You will return to Carlton for the afternoons to access activities such as climbing, abseiling and canoeing on the River Tees - or for a rest! There will be an art session on Thursday afternoon, and your efforts can be entered into the Unicorn Centre Summer Show art competition!
The October holiday is a Dressage Coaching Holiday. All riders must be capable of riding twice a day for a maximum of two hours. Riding sessions will be interspersed with lectures, videos, dressage judging, horse care and the final dressage competition on Friday.
Accommodation for this holiday will be at Park House, a bed and breakfast farmhouse, set in beautiful woodland at the base of the Cleveland Hills in the North Yorkshire National Park. Please note that there is only one ground floor room available. Riders must be able to negotiate narrow stairs.
There are 8 places available on each holiday. All meals and transport between the Centre and accommodation will be provided. Minimum age: 13 years. Maximum weight: 13 stones. All riders must be capable of looking after their daily needs with minimum help, but a carer can be accommodated by arrangement. Please contact the Centre for an application form. |
