Westbrook Interior Architectural Features
 | This page is a catalogue of some of the interior architectural features of some of the houses in the street. On Sunday 11 Sept 2011 we held two special events in the street. The first was the formal opening of the newly installed Victorian style street lamps which replaced the 1950s ones and the second was our taking part in the Heritage Open Days when we provided a guided walk and reception.
As part of this, resident Rob suggested that he would take pictures of some typical architectural features from the interiors of the houses. He mounted these as a display on our heritage open day and there was much interest in them.
We decided to also add these to the website. |

I am not sure if it is true but it has been said that the tiles in these houses were laid down by italian tilers. Certainly I once saw a program on TV on floor tiles in a grand house in London |

This is made of black slate. At one stage it had been painted a lurid blue so it is now painted black as the nearest to the original. |

These were much loved by the guinea pigs when they were running free in the kitchen as they liked to sit by them. One would even sit warming her front paws on the pipe. |
