The Hack & Spade public house at the corner of the main road in the village and Rachel Lane.
Whashton boasts its own pub in The Hack & Spade, the only pub in the country bearing this title, and so named because it is opposite the site of the original quarry (Now filled in and forming part of the village green).
The Hack & Spade is run by Jeremy and Jo who took over the pub in 2001. It has an excellent restaurant serving lunches and dinners with a varied menu.
