Minutes 19th July
Minutes of Parish Plan Committee, held on Monday, 19th July 2004, in the Mill Race.
Present: K. Rogers; K. L. Rogers; E. Bloomfield; D. Pattinson; M. Shepheard; E. Ridley.
Apologies: R. Hopkinson.
„h Article for Weardale Gazette: Ken Rogers will liase with the Weardale Gazette, detailing the main findings of the Parish Plan questionnaire, and indicating what the next steps will be.
„h Results from the survey: committee had been given a selection of the questionnaires to read, and noted the following points.
- increased facilities at Tunstall Reservoir (this could come under the tourism section of the plan).
- traffic problems were widespread throughout the village.
- more and varied public transport services were requested.
- improve the appearance of the village and reduce litter.
- most independent/supplementary comments made by respondents reinforced the responses from the main tick-box questionnaire.
„h The Parish Council has accepted the main findings of the questionnaire as the areas to be dealt with.
„h Letter of thanks/nest steps: Ken Rogers distributed a draft copy of a letter of thanks which would be sent to all households. K. R. to investigate the cost of having it distributed in the village by Post Office bulk delivery. The letter will also be in poster form, for display in the Papershop, etc. The letter has a reply slip to register interest in taking part in the next stage of the Parish Plan process. Elaine Ridley to talk to the Library about the possibility of respondents being able to leave replies there.
„h Stall at Wolsingham Show: a stall has been obtained in one of the marquees on Sunday, 5th Sept. 2 or 3 free entrance passes are available. David Pattinson to confirm arrangements with the Show Committee.
„h Next meeting: by August 25th, members should think of local people who could work on the 6 areas, and also external organisations who could become involved.
„h Future meetings: by September, there should be 2 or 3 workgroups set up, and some idea of the structure they would follow, which outside agencies to be contacted and suggestions for expenditure. The following dates for meetings were provisionally arranged
¡V Wednesday, 25th August, 7pm in the Town Hall, to allocate times for manning the stall at the show.
- Wednesday, 8th September, 7pm in the Town Hall or Pavilion, to discuss feedback from the Show and responses from the reply slips.
- 27th/28th/29th September ,7pm venue to be confirmed.
