First Steering Committee held 24th September
Wolsingham Parish Plan
Notes on First Steering Committee Meeting 24th September 2003
The first meeting of the steering committee was held on 24th September in the Town Hall.
Ken Rogers explained the background to Parish Plans, the Planning process, and the potential role of the Steering Committee. After a question and answer session, six members of the community agreed to participate on the committee in addition to the Parish Council Representatives. All present were assured that the cost of the Plan preparation would not involve any increase in the Parish Precept, because most of the direct cash funding would come from the Countryside Agency.
Cllr Anderson proposed and it was agreed that Ken Rogers be Chairman of the Committee, and Gordon Dobson be Secretary. KR to make formal application to the Countryside Agency for a Parish Plan Grant.
There was then some discussion on other organisations or individuals who may be approached to participate, and each committee member agreed to make contact with specified organisations. Additionally, it was felt appropriate to invite Wear Valley District Council to be a partner in the Plan Preparation, and take advantage of any expert assistance they can potentially provide.
We hope to welcome new members at the next meeting to be held in the Town Hall on Wednesday October 29th at 7pm. Anyone who wishes to observe is also welcome.
