The chairman opened the meeting and informed those present that a grant up to £5000 had been authorised by the Countryside Agency. The first instalment of £2500 to be in the bank within two weeks. All expenditure either “in kind” or actual now to be recorded,
E. Bloomfield to devise a time sheet for recording purposes.
The issues and Vision team had met to discuss the questionnaire , other examples of questionnaires were presented and a one for Trimdon was thought to be good , with a little fine tuning needed. Once the questionnaire was ready a draft form to be critiqued by a larger group of say 40 plus, to test the questions and responses. To organise a press release on the questionnaire, Weardale Gazette, Town Crier, & web site. The questionnaire would need to be delivered to over 1100 houses and an analysis completed by end March 2004, the full project to be completed by February 2005, which would fit in well with the Local Development Framework to be completed by 2006. To encourage people to return the forms a raffle prize to be given. Also to encourage the return, a poster campaign to run giving bulletins for the return & to encourage the involvement of everyone.
The communications team were arranging meetings with local organisations to give briefings on the Parish plan. A presentation evening at the Working Men’s Club had been arranged for local business and organisations to contribute to the web site , this would be a good chance to canvass and interview those attending on the Parish plan. R. Hopkinson and the girls to give a Power Point demonstration on the concept of the Parish plan at this meeting on Monday 1st December between 6.00 pm & 8.00pm.
An ideal opportunity to meet people face to face would be at the annual Christmas fayre on the 13th December, to organise a display and to meet individuals , informing about the Parish Plan process.
The parish council had recently agreed to sponsor an essay competition at the primary school, on the “Future of Wolsingham “ with a first prize of £20, to raise awareness to the younger generation on what they want to see happen in Wolsingham.
Next meeting to be at the Mill Race Thursday 4th December, 7pm.
