WOLSINGHAM PARISH PLAN

MINUTES OF A MEETING HELD 19TH JANUARY 2004

Mrs. M. Shepheard, Eric Bloomfield,
R. Hopkinson, Mrs. E.S. Ridley , Mrs. K. Rogers & G.Dobson

Minutes of meetings held 19trh November & 4th December agreed as a true record.
Financial claim forms had been prepared by Eric. Bloomfield and were circulated for all who wanted to make a claim for actual / in kind expenditure. To be handed to secretary for final claims to Countryside Agency.
The initial consultations carried out at the Christmas fayre, and one to one sessions had been very positive. The main areas of concern , parking , housing, community facilities, traffic, dog fouling, shops, derelict sites especially shops, business land, waste/litter. On housing the issues expressed were for affordable housing, warden controlled or sheltered housing. Pedestrianise the Market Place, designate as short stay parking only and direct long stay parking to Demesne Mill. On transport to develop the railway, more buses needed and possibly a town bus route and traffic calming measures. Environmental issues focused on improving the riverside, better public toilets, reduction on waste and litter and hone in on untidy areas and untidy properties, and the establishment of a business park. Community issues one centre for ecumenical worship, better theatrical facilities, and better disabled access.
A draft questionnaire was circulated containing 58 questions these were critiqued and a second draft to be prepared for the next meeting.
Discussion points for next meeting, raffle prize . should it be cash or in kind eg. meal for two, circulation of questionnaire, analysis of replies, awareness programme, advertising etc., The revised questionnaire to be circulated prior to the next meeting.
