Minutes of meetings held 19th January agreed as a true record.
The proposed questionnaire had been reduced from 57 questions down to 32 and these in turn were looked at and refined where necessary, the revised questionnaire to be circulated prior to the next meeting, a postcode could be asked for on the questionnaire to identify the street , questionnaires had been returned from.
In order to engage the views of the younger generation of the town it was proposed to enlist the help of Groundwork West Durham , Rural Young Voices Co-ordinator, Catherine Purvis to help design a questionnaire with the youth of the town, to be included in the main questionnaire.
The printing and distribution of the questionnaire to be late April/May to coincide with distribution of Town Crier. An awareness exercise to be undertaken telling everyone of the questionnaire to be made in the Town Crier April edition,Weardale Gazette editorial, and poster campaign.
A Royal Mail Business reply licence to be applied for so a pre paid, addressed envelope could be included with the distribution to encourage as many replies as possible, a deadline for returns to be 15th May. The envelope overprinting to be undertaken by Bob. Hopkinson.
The £500 prize for returning the questionnaire was not thought to be appropriate use of public funds and it was decided to withdraw this incentive.
A coffee morning was proposed for 8th May , in between the return period , to give assistance for those members of the public who may possibly find difficulty in replying to some of the questions.
The envelopes to be returned to the Town Hall, Paper Shop, Library.
After the return of the questionnaires Durham C.C. could possibly do the analysis

Next meeting March 11th, Thursday ,7.00 pm @ Mill Race
