Welcome to Yarm AA

Yarm Angling Association are proud to be one of the best fishing clubs in the North East. We have over 3 miles of excellent fishing on the Tees around the town of Yarm as well as stretches on the middle Tees. We also own 2 stillwaters which are very good mixed fisheries and with our affiliation to the ATDAC, our members can fish many superb fisheries.
We also have our own club headquarters where we hold our match day meets. The HQ is open 7 nights a week serving the best beers in Yarm. There are also other social activites centered around the club and we have recently installed SKY satalite TV so that our members can watch live sporting events.

River Bank Access Update 18th Nov 04

Our new access has given cause for concern recently when there was a problem with gates being left open. Please follow the countryside rules and close all gates after you. We have lost water in the past through event like this and we don't want it to happen again.

The club has negotiated another new car park which now gives easier access to the Leven Mouth pegs and it is not only the match angler who has benefited. The new car park, open to all members, is through the farm in Egglescliffe village (for further information on this access, please contact the club). It means the long walks around fisheries bend have been done away with and members are able to fish the Bream pegs in the 150 and 160’s with relevantly easy walks. This new car park, constructed and now fenced off, has come about because of the removal of one of the large Electricity pylon that has been dismantled. Many thanks go to Dave Harris for securing this access and thanks also go to the Farmer who has not allowed us the use of the area but who did a lot of the work on the car park itself.
Some simple rules, follow your club book for guidance and you wont go wrong. Please be aware that there are race horses using this farm at all times so be vigilant and keep you speed down when travelling through the farm yard.
. If you would like to offer help please contact either D. Sidgwick (lakes) or G. Douglas/D. Harris (rivers)

Hogweed

Summer is upon us and with it comes that threat of serious damage from bankside vegetation. Hogweed grows freely along the river banks and our waters are no different to any other. Hogweed can cause serious blistering of the skin and can leave permanent scares. It can also cause blindness should the sap from the plant get into an eye.
The damage is done by the plants sap which is very easily leaked from the plant, just scrapping an arm along the stem of the hogweed can lead to a leakage of sap. The plants can grow up to 8 foot in height and are easily spotted by the cauliflower like appearance.
All members are urged to be wary when going fishing not only on club waters but anywhere that you think the plant is likely to be.
There is a party going along the banks of the Tees killing off these plants but there will be some that are missed, please be vigilant in your approach to the river and be aware of your surroundings.

Additional e-mail

The club now has another e-mail address that members can use to ask questions about the club and it's activities. Feel free to contact us on
