Clubley family history
What a wandering tribe they were spreading from Scarborough down to the Humber Estuary. I thought the best or the first place to start was the grave yard in Easington. I took photographs of all the grave stones with Clubley on. What a lot of different names there were,Christian ones that is. The next port of call will be the Patrington Church archives. This can all be researched at Beverley.Last year I did some research at Northallerton but got way-laid by Drypool which is a district of HULL, My home town. I now know that the parish books are all kept at Beverley. So that will be my next port of call. |
Travelling South in Search
Up in a morning early and off I set in the car to head for the Beverley Archives. Having made a booking earlier. Ifind they have a special section for invalid parking and I go off to see the receptionist, after a few minutes she staggers in under a very old Church register. The smell gets right up my nose, bringing memories of what it must have been when first it was opened to record births, marriages and deaths. |
