YMCA Training is one of the UK's largest national training organisations and has been providing target driven, high quality training in a caring environment for more than 35 years.
YMCA Training works with individuals, organisations and the community from over 100 locations through out England.
YMCA Training has been established in North Yorkshire since 1996. The company has well qualified staff who have a wealth of experience and expertise. It’s Area Office is in Richmond and it has six other training centres in Harrogate, Scarborough, York, Selby, Skipton and Keighley in West Yorkshire. |

A little about our work...
 YMCA Training is the training department of YMCA England; it was founded in 1978 in the North of England in response to the growing number of young people who were unable to find employment during the recession.
Our mission is to help individuals and organisations release their potential by providing training and learning opportunities.
The YMCA is now one of the largest voluntary training organisations in the country.
Nationally,YMCA Training...
* Operates in 52 locations throughout England
* Contracts with 15 TEC’s and Co Employment Service Districts.
* Employs 380 full and part time staff.
* Delivers Vocational training and job search programme to 20,000 young people and 20,000 adults each year. |
Development in North Yorkshire
 Having run a successful NVQ Options programme specialising in special needs, staff in North Yorkshire also saw the need for training in other categories. Local companies, with whom we built a rapport approached us for assistance in finding them the right young person for the job.
A natural progression was then made by the trainees to attaining NVQ’s at level 1 and 2, completing one day courses in Health and Safety and Food Hygiene, attending one week residential courses as a mean of confidence building and undertaking Key Skills integrated with their NVQ work.
All staff are well qualified and offer expert training in Business Administration, Retail, Distributive Operations, Customer Service, Key Skills, Information Technology and Literacy & Numeracy.

On-going Support
On – going support is an important factor in training none more so than in North Yorkshire, trainers have excellent inter-personal skills and are competent when dealing with young people. We offer back up, off the job training and a package financed by North Yorkshire TEC.
