These placements can last between 2 and 4 weeks, and can also be arranged over longer periods should the employer wish to keep the trainee on. In this instance, trainees are paid a weekly training allowance by YMCA Training, so there will be no cost to the employer. Temporary Placements Temporary Placements are where trainees are allowed to continue in a placement, enabling them to complete an NVQ in that vocational area. Permanent Placements Permanent Placements are where the employer takes the trainee on a more permanent basis, to enable the trainee to complete their NVQ. This will cost the employer a maximum of £55 a week + VAT per week, to cover the training allowance and costs that the trainee still receives from YMCA Training (this price is negotiable, depending on the employer). Employment Employment is where the trainee is employed and paid directly by the company. YMCA Training will continue to train them free of charge (up to £2500 worth of training) to enable them to complete their NVQ, and even progress to a higher qualification. The employee can come into the centre for a half-day of-the-job training or they can be assessed in the workplace. If you already employ a young person aged between 16 and 25, who does not have a vocational qualification, then we can also train them in any of the above areas FREE OF CHARGE. We also offer the following courses: Basic Health and Safety Certificates Basic Food Hygiene Certificates These courses are held regularly at various sites over North Yorkshire.
