Junior Tournament 12/05/07
 Abbey's two Under 14 teams, who have each had an excellent season, travelled to Bedford for a junior tournament on Saturday 12th May. The weather conditions did the girls no favours with the rain making for slippery courts and balls. But despite this, the A team started strongly with a win. However, over the course of the day, the oposition proved too strong for both teams, annd the girls did not play to the best of their ability. A pep talk before their final two games seemed to do the trick and a bit of their usual spark could be seen, but they were unfortunate to record just that one win. Even though the results were not as they would have hoped, their enthusiasm and will to learn was something positive to take away from the experience. A lack of comeptition in the Oxfordshire league will need to be addressed next season in order to allow these talented players to reach their full potential. |
