Abingdon and District Camera Club has been in existence for more than 30 years and has had a variety of meeting places. Currently we meet on alternate Thursdays in the Methodist Church Hall, Dorchester Crescent, off Appleford Drive, in Abingdon, (behind the Boundary House Pub) where there is a handy bus-stop. Meetings commence at 7.45pm and finish at around 10.00pm. Our programme features a variety of items and the Club endeavours to accommodate all types of photographic medium. Compact, SLR, Large Format, Digital Camera Users are all welcome. For the last couple of years, we have met fortnightly and have continued throughout the year, apart from a break in August. This seems to suit most people instead of the weekly season of meetings from September through to May. There are occasionally extra meetings slotted in to add to the interest of the club. If you want to find out more about us, why not come along to a meeting. We make a small charge, which if you join, is taken into account by deduction from the annual subscription, which is pro-rata for members joining mid season. Membership for 2010 was increased to £40 per annum for Single Membership. For Unwaged/Student it is £20.00 per annum and for families with one Photographer in the family it is £50 and for families with more than one Photographer in the family it is £65 per annum.
The Club has now launched its own website, which is under construction at present. www.abingdoncameraclub.org.uk The Communigate Website will remain active because we recognise that it plays a valuable role in the location of Clubs and Societies. |
