What's been going on at Abingdon & District Camera Clu

The programme for 2008 has just recently been finalised and sent to the printers.  For those who use the web to keep in touch, there is a programme of events to suit all tastes.  This is what has happened so far.
On the 3rd Jan 08, the Chairman's fiendish Quiz set brains working and was swiftly followed by the Annual General Meeting on the 14th January, at which it was agreed to increase the subscriptions to £30.00.  The Officers were re-elected unopposed.
On the 31st January 08, David Illingworth showed his project work which had been submitted as part of an Open University Photography Course.  David's work reflected the expertise gained from the course and he recommended it to anyone interested in learning more about photography.
On the 14th February 08, the hall was packed with visiting clubs for the Royal Photographic Society Nature Slide Exhibition.  Some stunning images from contributors across the world held the audience's rapt attention.
On the 28th February, Gary Irvine from Oxford PS came to show pictures of his photographic safari round Africa.  Impressions of Africa was the title, and the images certainly inspired the audience.
During the 1st to the 15th March, the shop window of the old music shop, was given over to a display of entries of photographic excellence as part of Arts Fortnight in the Town.
Derek Bannister was the Guest Speak on the 5th March and gave an insight into his life as a Commercial Professional Photographer.  Still Life to die for.  Lighting is the key and aspect of view is the other.  A Stepladder in the car is a must, apparently.  His enthusiasm for his work held the audience's attention for the entire evening.
