About us

9th Abingdon (Appleton) Scout Group.

The Group started at the end of February 1996 with the opening of a Beaver colony. This was followed in March 1997 with the starting of the Cub Scout Pack.

The Beaver Leaders have the names of sea creatures. The leader Angela is called Starfish; and we have Dolphin (Doreen) as a regular unit helper and Seahorse (Gerry) available when we are short of helpers.
Our Group Neckerchief colour is Emerald Green.

We meet once a week on a Wednesday evening. We are open to both boys and girls aged 5.75-8 years old, and we also operate a waiting list of children who are not yet quite old enough, so they can be invited to join when the time comes, and sometimes we invite them to special events we are holding.

We have a mixed and balanced programme to help the children develop physically and intellectually in safety, and together we all have lots of FUN.
