Women Aglow

A group of inter-denominational women of all ages who meet on the first Monday of the month (2nd if a Bank Hol) at the SALVATION ARMY HALL, Hart Place, Sunderland Drive (OX26 4FR) from 7:30 pm onwards. There is time food, chat and to view Christian tape and book stalls. A time for notices and worship, then an excellent guest speaker, who always challenges and motivates. The ministry time afterwards is always a blessing. On the 4th Monday of the month there is the "Hour of Power" prayer time at the Salvation Army Hall, at 7:30 pm. Extra seminars and courses are arranged through the year. A great organisation to build up your faith and make new friends.
Forthcoming speakers:
6th Oct: Janice Roger-Smith
3rd Nov: Kathy Woan
1st Dec: Sarah Watkins (healing ministry)

Contact Sue Tugwood on 07745 919948 or Gale Parlett on 01491 834610 for more info.
See Romans 12 v 11 which sums up the meaning of Aglow.

Maranatha Group

This meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month at the Salvation Army hall, Boston Rd at 8 pm. A time of prayer and reflection for revival and fellowship. Mixed ages, sexes and denominations. All welcome. Contact the Salvation Army for more information.

Prayer Breakfasts

On the 2nd Saturday of the month, at the Salvation Army Hall school, from 8 am. An informal meeting by men, for men, and only about an hour or so. Contact Steve Foster on 01869-600952 for more details. Not to be outdone, on the 3rd Saturday at 9am (a lie in!) the ladies have a similar gathering, but with prettier table arrangements! Contact Bea Foster on the same number!

Ladies lunches

These are held around 4 times a year by the Anglican ladies, headed by Chris Hunt (tel: 01869-346739 or Anne Black, tel: 01869-325620). There is an interesting speaker and a wonderful cooked lunch provided free of charge (donations welcome). The venue varies, but is usually in the Village Hall of Weston-on-the-Green, which is capable of accommodating the 50 or so people who attend. Children are welcome, and a creche provided if notified in advance. There is one evening meeting a year for those who cannot attend the lunches.
July 9th: summer meal with fresh picked local strawberries & cream.
Oct 10th : at Meth. church (7:30pm) - Send-a-Cow ministry.

Food Bank

Bicester Food Bank runs every Tuesday & Friday lunch time at the good old Methodist Church (where would we be without it?). It's aim is to supply needy local people with well balanced food to keep them and their families fed for 3 days or so. They are referred by Citizens Advice, Social Service etc and this can really be a lifeline at a time of financial crisis. The Christian helpers offer more than just food too. Donations of tinned or non-perishable food with a long sell-by-date are always accepted on the open days, or at any Bicester church. Phone 01869-325176 for more details.

Seed Barn

Starting summer 2008, this is every Wednesday, from 2-4pm at Bicester Methodist Church. There is a Christian book stall, refreshments and line dancing to Christian music. Such fun, and all at a low price!
