The Burford Singers

'The Burford Singers' is a choir of just over 100 voices that performs three concerts a year under its conductor Brian Kay - in late November/early December, Palm Sunday and in late June. Most of the concerts take place in the beautiful surroundings of Burford Parish Church and are given with the Cotswold Chamber Orchestra and with soloists of national standing. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30 pm at the Methodist Church in Burford High St. There is usually a short waiting list in most voice parts to join the choir, but enquiries are always welcome and should be addressed to the Membership Secretary, Miss Janet Jeffs, Elmstead, Crawborough, Charlbury, OX7 3TX. Forthcoming concerts are on 29th June 2008, 7th December 2008 and 5th April 2009. Details of these are given in the Events Calendar. The 2009 summer concert will feature the Monteverdi Vespers, with the baroque orchestra Canzona.
