The Headington Stations

The History
Corpus Christi Church Stations of the Cross (The Headington Stations) were sculpted by the artist Faith Tolkien and, after 3 three years of long and at times exhausting work, blessed by Bishop Crispian Hollis on the 18th October 1988. This article is reproduced (with minor changes) from the booklet "The Tolkien Stations of the Cross", published in 1989.
Good quality monochrome photographs of all fourteen Stations are included together with the artist's notes and accompanying scriptural passages. The photographs have been reproduced from negatives loaned by the original photographer Nicholas Meyjes of Horton-cum-Studley.

If you place the mouse over each photograph of the Station the artist's notes will be automatically displayed. When the mouse is moved away from the photograph the notes are no longer displayed.
