Democracy in action, a chance for you to get involved
A brainstorming planning exercise aimed at encouraging people to actively to participate in the future development of Headington.
The planned Headington event is expected to attract some 250 participants. At the open day exercise, residents will be introduced to the city council's current Local Plan for Headington, discussing future development opportunities.
Follow-up workshops will allow people to get involved in more in-depth discussions about the plans. Cllr Mike Woodin, Local Plan Review Group Chairman and Cllr John Goddard, City Council Planning Committee Chairman, have both welcomed the opportunity of these planned events to put democracy into action in local planning.
The Local Plan will provide guidelines for decisions on planning applications made by the city council over the next decade.
Action Planning Events are due to be held at:
**Headington Baptist Church, Old High Street - open day March 17, workshop March 19
**Barton Centre, Underhill Circus - open day March 24, workshop March 26
**Northway Community Centre, Maltfield Road - open day March 31, workshop April 3
**Oxford Town Hall, St Aldates, open day June 2, workshop June 4
All open days take place at 10am to 5pm
Workshops take place at 6.45pm to 9pm.
